Ribble Valley Photographic Society was formed in September 2022 as part of Knowle Green Village Hall's community events.
It was intended to be a friendly and social photography club, where members of all experience and skill levels could meet to enjoy photography and all that it brings.
The club very quickly became popular due to its ethos, the mutual passion for photography, and the willingness of members to help each other. This refreshing outlook on what a club should be has attracted many members already, including members of existing clubs, that they thought were lacking the warm welcome and friendly atmosphere that RVPS members enjoy.

Our members range from absolute beginners to seasoned professionals, all with the same goal of enjoying the club and encouraging others to take up and enjoy photography.
In addition to all skill levels being welcome, the same goes for the photography equipment used by members. Lots of people become interested in photography through using their smartphones and tablets to take photographs, and these, along with all other levels of equipment are supported and encouraged.
Our members look forward to organised events in our Club Diary such as; talks by renowned photographers, photoshop and editing tuition, practical sessions, camera craft tuition and group outings to places of photographic interest.

Club meetings are held on the second Thursday of every month, at Knowle Green Village Hall, which will usually be a mix of, informal chat, discussing members images from thee previous month and a talk by a guest speaker, or an organised practical evening.
The third Thursday of the month is an informal zoom meet, where members will be given free guidance on Lightroom, Photoshop and other editing software, as well as being invited to ask any questions they may have, in addition to the general social element of the meet. Check out our Club Diary for regular updates on this.
The fourth Thursday of the month is an in person meeting at the club for a practical evening, photographing still life, props and models etc. Our more experienced members are on hand to offer help and guidance with camera settings and camera craft etc.

We have a Facebook page where everyone is welcome to follow and join us, and we have a private Members Only Facebook group, where our paid members can arrange outings, engage in general discussion and share their images, which can only be seen by fellow club members.
